My certifications are in special education, Self-contained PK-6 and administration.  This is my 28th year in education and  I love what I do.  I view my school as an extension of my family. I genuinely believe that you get back what you give in relation to time and effort in education.

Hello Hornets and welcome to the 2024-2025 school year. I am Garrett Jackson and I will serve as an assistant principal at East Central High School. I am excited to serve and be a part of this great community. I have been in education for 8 years. I taught theatre and tech theatre before becoming an administrator. I graduated from The University of Texas at Austin and Concordia University Texas. This will be my first year as an administrator and I am excited that it is with the Hornet Nation. I look forward to serving the EC community and getting to know all of you!

My name is Sergio Lopez and I am both humbled and honored to serve this year as an Assistant Principal here at East Central High School. I have 7 years experience in the classroom along with 4 years of coaching experience. I have a bachelor's degree from Texas A&M University San Antonio and a masters in Educational Technology Leadership with principal certification from Lamar University. I am very excited to be in an administrative role this year and look forward to serving the EC community.

Hello, EC community. My name is Jason Taylor and I am humbled by the opportunity to serve as an assistant principal at ECHS. I have been working in the education field, including teaching and administration roles in private, charter, and public schools in our area, since 2007 and I've taught World and US History here at ECHS beginning in 2018. Prior to my career in education, I served in the US Air Force for 8 years, where I worked in military law enforcement and later, as a combat leadership and weapons instructor. I received my Master of Education in 2013 and a Master of Arts in History in 2014 from Wayland Baptist University. My wife and I have a college-aged daughter and two sons who are both entering young adulthood. My family and I have spent most of our lives in this community (in fact, my wife is a class of 1996 EC grad), so it is truly a special honor to serve and support our students and families here. I thank you for the privilege.
