Meet the Principal

As the principal of East Central High School, I am honored to lead a community where we inspire, challenge, and empower students to be persistent problem solvers and well-rounded individuals. Our goal is for every student to grow academically and personally, ensuring they are college and career-ready by fostering a safe, respectful, and responsible environment.

I have the privilege of serving East Central High School as its principal. Before ECHS, I was the proud principal of Heritage Middle School for nine years. Before that, I was a teacher, assistant principal, and academic dean for 20 years in 4 different high schools, including East Central HS.  Working at HMS is not only an honor but a privilege. Our students are amazing young people with many talents and interests. We strive to meet our kids' individual academic needs by providing various opportunities, from our Special Education programming to our Gifted and Talented courses. We also know students who are actively involved in extra-curricular activities are also more likely to be successful academically and thus offer many programs, such as UIL athletics, UIL academics, Band, Choir, Theater Arts, Art, Student Council, Robotics, Future Business Leaders of America, Odyssey of the Mind, History Fair, etc.  

Our vision at ECHS is to educate and instill the value of safety, respect, and responsibility to ensure that our students are college and career-ready by inspiring, challenging, and empowering our students to be persistent problem solvers by reading for understanding, evaluating critically across disciplines, and developing oral and written communication skills. We understand that you entrust us daily with your children, and I want you to know that we value your trust. Ultimately, our goal is that every student grows academically at least one year from where they started at the beginning of the school year.
