FFA Lettermen Jackets

East Central FFA Members are eligible to receive the ECHS Lettermen Jacket.  You can't buy it, you have to earn it and submit an application to the Ag Department Staff.  Please review the following Requirements:

East Central FFA Letter Jacket Program 

The students of the East Central FFA organization are eligible for an East Central Letter Jacket. The following criteria must be met in order to apply for an East Central FFA Letter Jacket. The East Central FFA/School will purchase the letter jacket (for those who have qualified and who have not lettered in an organization) and the letter (or mount for those who have already lettered). Additional patches may be purchased by the students but should be approved by the advisors. 

ALL students must meet all the following set of criteria:

  1. The student must be a member in good standing of the East Central FFA and abide by the FFA/Agriscience Department Code of Conduct. Which is outlined in the East Central FFA/Member Handbook.
  2. The student must have attended 50% of all club meetings unless excused by the FFA advisors. 
  3. The student must participate in two (2) organized FFA community service projects the year they apply.
  4. The student must be classified as a sophomore, junior or senior and must have been a member of the FFA for a minimum of two (2) semesters. We will allow Freshmen to measure at the end of their Freshman year.
  5. The student must maintain a minimum of a “B ” average in all Agriscience classes. 
  6. The student must have received their Greenhand & Chapter FFA Degrees before the jacket will be awarded.
  7. The student must have no less than a satisfactory conduct grade on their report card and have the recommendation of their principal or vice-principal. 
  8. The FFA advisors must recommend students for a letter jacket before the application will be accepted. 

All Students must meet at least one (1) of the following criteria:

  1. The student must place in the top fifteen (15) teams competing in a Career Development Event or place or place in the top ten (10) individuals in the State Career Development Contest or in the top 3 in the State Agriscience Fair. 
  2. The student must place first (1st), second (2nd), or third (3rd) in the Area VII Leadership Development Event/Contest 
  3. The student must be selected first (1st) in a State Proficiency Event or State Work-Based Learning Award 
  4. The student must win a National FFA Award or receive individual or special recognition from the National FFA Organization 
  5. The student is elected to a District, Area, State, or National Office 
  6. The student must have received their Lone Star FFA Degree
  7. The student’s livestock project (which is entered through the East Central FFA) is selected as Champion or Reserve Champion at a major Livestock Show in the Junior Division (Southwestern Exposition -Ft. Worth, San Antonio Livestock Exposition -San Antonio, Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo - Houston, State Fair of Texas - Dallas)
